Points Assessment
In order to be considered for the Skilled
Worker Overseas stream, candidates must receive at least 60 points based on
five categories, in addition to proving a strong connection to Manitoba. You
will not be eligible for this stream if you do not have a link to Manitoba,
regardless of your point total. The MPNP points system depicted below is purely
for your self-evaluation and information.
Language Proficiency is the first
factor to consider.
Language Points are awarded based on proof of
training and proficiency in one or both of Canada's official languages, English
and French. If you are fluent in both, select the one with which you are most
comfortable as your first language. As confirmation of your language skills,
you must produce authentic official results from a recent MPNP-approved
language exam. Your exam must have been taken no more than two years prior to
the day you submit your MPNP Online application to be deemed genuine. Canadian
Language Benchmark/Niveaux de competency linguistic Canadians is the acronym
for Canadian Language Benchmark/Niveaux de competence linguistic Canadiens (NCLC).
Applicants whose occupations are designated as
National Occupational Classification C or D must have at least CLB 4 in English
to be considered (or NCLC 4 in French).

to settle and establish a permanent
residence in Manitoba. All candidates must have a Manitoba connection. Even
if numerous types of connections apply to you, you can only collect points for
one of them. In addition to Adaptability points, you may receive Regional
Immigration points if you have a connection to and want to settle in a Manitoba
area other than Winnipeg. Regional points are only meant to be used as a
supplement and cannot be used in place of a direct link to the province.
