British Columbia launches another Tech and Targeted draw for BC PNP

British Columbia, Canada's targeted and tech draws for the Canada provincial nominee program (Canada PNP) were held on December 20, 2022. 173 ITAs (Invitations to Apply) for provincial nomination have been issued in these draws by the BC PNP.

In this round of invitations, the BC has also invited candidates under the BC PNP streams. This was the 3rd BC PNP draw in a time span of a week.

In a brand-new BC PNP Tech Pilot draw, the BC PNP distributed 153 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to applicants. With a minimum score of 90 or above, ITAs were granted to Skilled Workers and International Graduates (including the Express Entry British Columbia option).

20 applicants in total were asked to participate in a subsequent BC PNP draw that was held on December 20th as part of a targeted draw for skilled workers and international graduates (which included the Express Entry British Columbia option). A total of 25 ITAs were granted, of which 15 were for Early Childhood Educators & Assistants in Childcare (NOC 42202) and 5 for Healthcare. A score of 60 was necessary to pass.

Tech PNP BC

BC PNP TECH application process

• After choosing their category, candidates can register online and obtain a registration score. It costs nothing to sign up.
• The BC PNP will hold a tech draw every week (subject to processing capacity) to invite the top-scoring technology sector registrants to apply.
• Those who have been invited have up to 30 days starting on the date of the invitation to submit a completed online application. The cost of applying to the government is $700.
• If accepted, the applicant obtains a nomination that can be used to submit an application for permanent residence through the BC PNP, which processes applications on a priority basis.
• A work permit support letter will be provided to those who have been nominated and fulfil the requirements of their nomination in order for them to apply for a new work permit or renew their current one, allowing them to continue working during the application process.

Previous BC PNP draw

The Entrepreneur and Skills Immigration streams were the focus of the last BC PNP draw, which took place on December 13, 2022. There were 227 contestants in total that were invited to the draw.

BC PNP conducts draw on the 26th of July inviting General, tech and Targeted NOC.

General draw including tech occupation: 147 On July 26, 2022, British Columbia extended a fresh round of invitations to prospective nominees. In one of its most recent draws, BC asked 147 people to apply for a provincial nomination in a general draw that also included tech professionals.

Candidates qualified under the five Express Entry and Skills Immigration streams of the British Columbia Nominee Program were called to the draw on July 26.

The nominee streams in British Columbia provide a route for employees and graduates who want to settle in the province to get permanent residence in Canada. The majority of BCPNP Skills Immigration programs demand that applicants have a legitimate employment offer from a BC employer.

British Columbia once more staged a separate draw with a minimum score requirement of 60 points for applicants with experience in specific NOC codes. About the BC PNP

The goal of the BC PNP is to draw in foreign employees who are in high demand in the province and who want to immigrate to Canada as permanent citizens.

Express Entry and Skills Immigration are the two primary sub-streams of the BC PNP's immigration program. The BC Skills Immigration Registration System oversees these streams (SIRS). You must first register an account in order to apply via the SIRS. After that, a score will be given to you based on your education, employment history, and language proficiency.

When British Columbia has one of its regular draws, the top-scoring applicants from each subcategory are then encouraged to apply for a provincial nomination to apply for permanent residency.

You have 30 days from the date of the invitation to submit a complete application using the BC PNP online system if you were invited.

You will get notification of the province's decision after submitting a comprehensive BC PNP application packet, usually within two to three months. You can apply to Immigration, Refugee, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for permanent residence status under the Provincial Nominee Class if your nomination is accepted.

Following confirmation, the nomination is effective for around six months.

You may be eligible for an additional 600 points under the CRS if you are a provincial candidate and have a score high enough to be invited to apply (ITA) in a subsequent federal Express Entry draw.

Tech and targeted NOCs are invited to BC new PNP draw

On July 5th, 2022, 100 IT professionals were invited to apply for a provincial nomination in British Columbia. The invitations were sent out via the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program's (BC PNP) Tech stream (BC PNP).

In order to draw in seasoned, in-demand foreign professionals, British Columbia uses the BC PNP as a conduit for economic immigration. The program offers a route to permanent residency to those who desire to dwell and work in British Columbia.

The qualifications of one of British Columbia's Express Entry BC and Skills immigration categories, which are administered by the Skills and Immigration Registration System, must be met by applicants invited through BC's Tech draws (SIRS).

• Less than 5 applicants were invited for other targeted NOCs (NOCs 3114 and 3213)

Candidates from the subcategories of International Graduate and Skilled Worker were invited to participate in this draw and need a minimum provincial score of 85.

Targeted draw outcomes

The province of British Columbia (BC) has recently held targeted draws for applicants who fulfil the basic qualifications for a number of National Occupational Classifications (NOCs) that are in demand in the province, such as those in healthcare and technology industries.

Concerning BC PNP Tech

Following labour market research that revealed that the main challenge confronting BC's technology sector was access to talent, the BC PNP Tech was introduced in May 2017 as a pilot experiment. Due to the project's effectiveness, BC made it a long-term initiative. When skilled personnel isn't readily available locally, it's intended to help firms in British Columbia's technology sector continue to attract and choose overseas talent.

For in-demand computer professionals and overseas students, the BC PNP Tech is a fast-track immigration program. To be eligible for the stream, applicants must be registered in one of the 29 qualifying occupations and hold a valid job offer that is valid for at least 12 months.

In contrast to other BC PNP streams, BC PNP Tech job offers must be for a minimum of one year, with at least 120 days remaining at the time of BC PNP application. Additionally, it must be full-time and from a province-wide qualifying employer.

Weekly invitations through the province's tech program are delivered to the top-scoring applicants who satisfy the prerequisites.

A complete application must be submitted by candidates who have been invited to seek a provincial nomination. Most tech applications will be approved in two to three months after this is finished.

Candidates who are accepted will be given a nomination confirmation from Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) that they can use to apply for permanent residence under the Provincial Nominee Program Class.

PNP candidates have a very excellent probability of earning an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence through the Express Entry procedure since they immediately receive 600 points for their Comprehensive Ranking System score.

Draws are held by the BC PNP for both specialized and general/technical employment. British Columbia's westernmost province held a new Provincial Nominee Program draw on June 28. British Columbia held a general draw for immigration applications under its Provincial Nominee Program that included IT workers, healthcare professionals, and early childhood educators and assistants.

Through the BC PNP General Draw Including Tech Occupations and other targeted NOC, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) welcomed 159 qualified individuals, foreign graduates, and entry-level and semi-skilled workers.

The PNP in British Columbia

BC PNP conducts a new draw on June 14th for General and Targeted NOCs
