What is the difference between Express Entry and PNP for Canada?

A federal program called Express Entry chooses immigrants based on standards established by the government. Provincial nominee programs (PNPs) choose immigrants in accordance with each province's requirements. Although each province has its own requirements, they are all comparable in that they are all simpler to meet in terms of language ability and job experience than the federal requirements. However, just because a province chooses someone doesn't immediately make them permanent residents. To receive PR as a provincial nominee, the applicant must still submit an application to the federal government with provincial permission. The federal government still has the last say.

If you choose the PNP, it typically takes 4 months for the province to process your application and another 16 months or so for the federal government to approve it. The time required to complete provincial criteria, such as gaining a specific quantity of work experience, is not included in these time ranges.

Express Entry System

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) introduced it as a point-based online immigration program back in 2015. Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trades, and Canadian Experience Class are the three main categories under which it registers foreign skilled workers.

Candidates can apply for a Canadian PR visa through the Express Entry system if they get at least 67 points or more based on important profile variables including age, education, language ability, work experience, etc. Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada issue ITAs (Invitations to Apply) for Canadian PR visas to applicants with the highest CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) scores.

Provincial Nominee Program

A Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is used by the majority of Canadian provinces to evaluate, choose, and nominate qualified applicants for Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) Visas. Each PNP has its own program, procedure, and set of requirements. The majority of PNPs have a stream connected to the federal Express Entry System that aids applicants in raising their Express Entry score in accordance with the nomination they receive from a province.
