  • Language proficiency: Have a minimum competent level of English or French. Minimum 6 bands in the IELTS exam is acceptable.
  • Health requirement; Undergo a medical examination to prove that you are physically and mentally fit when applying.
  • Character Certificate: Get a good character certificate to prove that you don't have any criminal record.

The Australia PR process for skilled immigration

To apply for Australian PR, you must follow a stepwise process mentioned below:

Step 1: Select an appropriate visa subclass

You must first choose or nominate a skilled profession from one of the SOLs and then apply for a visa subclass.

Step 2: Register for a language test

English is Australia's national language, and you must achieve a good score in each module for your English language competency, which is 6 bands in each module. You can do this by enrolling in the IELTS test and receiving online IELTS tutoring from professional trainers.

Step 3: Get a suitable Skills Assessment.

You must first fill out an online assessment form with an occupation code and name to obtain a skill assessment report. Along with your job experience credentials, you must also mention your education and other supporting documents.

Within 10 weeks of completing a skill exam, you will receive a Skills Assessment Report.

Step 4: Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI)

The next step is to use the Skill Select System to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). You can then wait for the ITA to apply for Australia PR.

Step 5: Obtain an ITA (Invitation to Apply)

After acknowledging your EOI, you will get your invitation to apply from the DHA (Department of Home Affairs).

Step 6: Submit your final visa application

You have 60 days from the time you receive your ITA (invitation to apply) from the DHA to submit the final and complete visa application and the supporting documents and needed money.

Step 7: Finally, get your PR

The visa officer will examine and verify all of the information and papers for accuracy and completeness. If your application and supporting documentation are accurate and comprehensive, you will be granted a visa.
