Alberta is a province in western Canada noted for its vast oil reserves, friendly residents, and attractive and culturally diverse cities and cultures. Alberta is the fourth most populous province in Canada, with 3.8 million citizens, and the country's strongest and fastest-growing economy. With world-class healthcare, a solid public education program, low crime rates, and close-knit communities, Alberta have a lot to offer. Alberta has an increasing number of opportunities for a wide range of people, making it one of the most desirable provinces in the country for immigrants. The new Express Entry Canada programme is the most convenient way to immigrate to Alberta.
The Alberta Immigrant
Nominee Program (AINP)
Alberta's business immigration program allows people to live permanently in the province if they possess skills to fill
job shortages or plan to buy or start a business there. The Alberta and Canadian
governments are responsible for implementing the initiative.
If you are nominated under the program, you, your spouse or cohabiting
partner, and your dependents may apply for permanent residence.
Permanent residence applications are processed by immigrants, refugees
and Canadian citizenship. These applications are also decided by the federal
government.
AINP Streams
Streams for workers
For foreign workers who live and work in Alberta, or for foreign workers who wish to live and work
here, AINP has two streams.
·
Alberta Express Entry Stream
·
Alberta Opportunity Stream
The Alberta Express Entry Stream
There is a limit to how many qualified
individuals can be submitted to Express Entry through the province.
The government may request
application materials from candidates who have established significant ties to
Alberta or who can assist with economic development and diversification
efforts.
This stream may require international graduates from Canadian post secondary organisation to apply.
Notes:
·
Direct applications are not accepted for the
Express Entry Stream in Alberta.
· You cannot apply for Alberta Express
Entry or the federal Express Entry system using a nomination from another AINP
stream.
· Candidates may not be able to reapply for up to
five years if the AINP finds fraud or misrepresentation in their application.
· It is not possible for nominees to extend their
nomination in the Alberta Express Entry Stream.
There are two steps in this stream:
· AINP will send a Notification of Interest (NOI)
letter to Express Entry candidates. To express interest in this stream, only those
who have received an NOI letter should contact the AINP.
· These candidates are invited to apply by the
AINP. Candidates must establish whether or not they meet the assessment
requirements before submitting an application. Completed applications are
placed in a pool of eligible applications for processing.
The Alberta Opportunity Stream
Those temporary foreign employees who are already
employed full-time in Alberta and who have a full-time job offer from an
Alberta employer in an appropriate occupation are eligible to apply through the
Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS). Applicants must possess either a positive
Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) or one of the approved LMIA exemption
work permits. The minimum eligibility requirements also include occupations,
languages, education, job offers from Alberta, and work experience.
