VETASSESS Skill Assessment New Requirements for Australia PR w.e.f 1st March 2019

The skill assessing body VETASSESS for Australia Permanent Resident Visa has done certain changes to the trade skills Assessment programs for TSS, OSAP and TRS. The changes will be applicable from 1st March 2019.

The following changes will take place for VETASSESS:
  1. Changes to the employment and training requirement for pathway 1 assessments
The amount of verifiable employment evidence a pathway 1 applicant must submit for their nominated has been changed as follows:
  • Licensed trade with no formal training requires six years of work experience
  • Licensed trade with formal training requires four years of work experience
  • Non-Licensed trade with formal training requires three years of work experience
  • Non-Licensed trade with no formal training requires five years of work experience
Additionally, all applicants must have completed at least 12 months of employment in their nominated occupation in the three years prior to lodging their application.

  1. Changes in Assessment fees
The Trade Skills Assessment fees are now set by Trades Recognition Australia and payment of these fees must be made directly to TRA.
  1. Changes to the submission and payment process
Coming 1st March 2019, VETASSESS requires new applications to be accompanied by all required stage 1 documentary evidence. After applying and uploading supporting evidence and documents, you will make payment directly to TRA.
Please note that after making payment applicant or agents will not be able to further upload evidence after making payment.
