What is the processing time for software engineer applying for Australian PR visa?

Software Engineers are in demand in Australia labor market. However, the processing time is different for each application. There are number of reasons that affect the current Australian PR processing time.

Since, you haven’t mentioned the visa category in which you intend to apply; I would like to tell you the Australian permanent residency processing time for skilled migration visa:
For Australia Skilled Independent Visa Subclass 189,
· 75 per cent of applications are processed within 8 months
· 90 per cent of applications are processed within 11 months
For Australia Skilled State Nominated Visa Subclass 190,
· 75 per cent of applications are processed within 5 months
· 90per cent of applications are processed within 8 months
For Australia Skilled Regional Provisional Visa subclass 489,
· 75 per cent of applications are processed within 9 months
· 90 per cent of applications are processed within 12 months
However, please keep on mind that the above mentioned processing time are the general processing time as per DIBP, the actual PR processing time may vary.
To be eligible to apply for Australia PR, a minimum of 65 points are required that are calculated for age, educational qualification, work experience, relevant skills, language proficiency and other factors.

Though, as per the latest invitation round results, applicants are invited to apply with 75 points or more for the software engineers. Hence, it is suggested that you try and score good immigration point for a better chance to receive ITA.
