Ontario Announced Increased Nomination Allocation for 2018; Program Will Also Resume Issuing Notifications of Interest

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), on January 18, 2018 made an announcement that the federal government of Canada, after praising the success of the OINP and its standing for economy of Ontario, has increased the province’s 2018 allocation by 600 nominations. Now, the total applications to be accepted during the duration of year 2018 is 6,600.

Following the announcement, OINP has opened applications for the following streams:

 



Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream

Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream

Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills Stream

Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream

Ontario’s Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream

Ontario’s Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream

Corporate Stream

Entrepreneur Stream




Ontario has also urged the applicants to refer to the recently updated Application Guides before applying as some criteria and procedures have undergone a change, as a result of the Proclamation of the Ontario Immigration Act, 2015 from January 1, 2018. The interested candidates need to carefully review the application guide to ensure that they meet all stream criteria.

In addition, the OINP will resume issuing Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to applicants who qualify for Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities (HCP) Stream.  Source Link
