Canberra Matrix issues 165 invitations for 190 and 491 visa - 25th March 2020

The ACT of Canberra Matrix on 25th March 2020 has come up with its invitation round results for 190 and 491 visa nominations. In this Invitation, a total number of 165 invitations were issued under which 62 invitations are for 190 visa and rest of 103 invitations for 491 visa category. The invitation was given through an expression of interest known as “Canberra Matrix”.

ACT 190 Visa Nominations

All Matrix will be submitted between 120 to 75 point score for Subclass 190 visa category. Candidates with 70 immigration point score, Matrix was submitted on or before 30th December 2019.

ACT 491 Visa Nomination

For 491 visa category, all matrix will be submitted with a minimum point score between 95 to 70 points. Applicants with 65 points, matrix was submitted on or before 16th February 2020.

Canberra Skilled Visa Program New Important Updates 2018

As reported, Australian Capital Territory is now open for the migrants to apply for ACT Nomination Program to get permanent residence from 29th November 2018. However, the recent changes have been done by the immigration department of ACT in terms of inviting skilled migrants.

The new system came into force after reviewing and consulting with different entities. This means that after a thorough discussion the ACT has excluded its invitation round result method of first come first serve and has now introduced the new ACT point based immigration system.

The new point based system is different from other point based systems of Australia PR programs. The applicants applying for ACT must score at least 20 points based on the ACT parameters along with fulfilling the basic point eligibility requirements.

The applicants applying for ACT must have a strong presence in the territory before actually applying for the nomination programs. It is reported that 20 points criteria is based on study in Canberra or duration of stay, language ability skills and partner assessment etc. The applicants will receive invitation on the bases of these points; the highest ranking applicant will be invited to apply.

Also, the candidates whose occupation is listed on the ACT occupational demand list will be entitled to receive 10 additional points. Though, no nominated occupation on ACT demand list will give any additional points.

The ACT occupational in-demand list 2018 has also been updated where few occupations have been removed from ACT labour market altogether.
