Australia Will Slash Temporary Parent Visa Fee And Remove Invitations Cap!

This is to bring to your kind notice that a Labour Government will significantly reduce the fee for temporary sponsored parent visa and remove a cap of 15,000 visas. The visa applications for parent’s sponsorship will be accepted from 1st July 2019. The coalition government introduced a visa that will allow parents of Australian permanent residents and citizens to stay for at least five years.
However, soon after the visa came into limelight because of its fee- $10,000 for a five-year visa and $5,000 fee for a three-year visa. Labour party is expected to cut the fee to $2,500 and $1,250 for a five year and three-year visas respectively.
The policy is planning to eliminate the “heartless, callous and cruel condition” of limiting the visa to one set of parents per household under the current visa. The Labour Government is also planning to remove the annual cap of 15,000 visas.
Under Labour’s Policy, parents will not have to leave Australia at the end of their visa if they want their visa to be renewed whereas, under the present scenario, visa holder parents have to leave Australia at the expiry of their visa before it can be renewed.

Australia Introduces New Temporary Sponsored Parent Visa of five years

The Morrison Government will introduce a new Temporary Sponsored Parent Visa for parents and grandparents to reunite with their families.
The Senate passed the Migration Amendment (Family Violence and other Measures) Bill 2016 that includes provisions to introduce the new visa allowing parents to visit their families in Australia for a regular period of up to five years.
The Minister for Immigration, Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs David Coleman said the new visa demonstrates the Government’s commitment to migrant communities.
Mr. Coleman added that this new visa will help families reunite and spend time together. Also, it is a great route for parents and grandparents to visit their families in Australia resulting in great social benefits to the Australian community.
Despite opposition from the Labour party that voted against the important legislation, this bill has been passed.

The new Temporary Sponsored Parent Visa will help the families to come together and meanwhile, the government will also ensure that taxpayers are not liable to cover additional costs.
Thus, there are full measures taken by the Australian Government to strengthen the visa framework that requires Australian sponsors to become financial guarantor of their family’s medical cost. The government will work in favour of Australians.
Hence, Minister added, “This new visa will ensure family reunions are possible for many migrant families across Australia, while protecting taxpayers with strict guidelines to ensure all public health debts including hospital and aged care fees are recovered by the Australian Government.”
This new Temporary Sponsored Parent Visa will be open for the applicants to apply in the first half of 2019.
