The most common exam for English language competency required for higher education and international immigration is the IELTS (International English Language Testing System). How many IELTS points are awarded for Australian immigration?

  • You receive 0 points for Australia PR if your IELTS band score is 6.
  • If you receive a higher IELTS level, such as an IELTS Band 7, you receive 10 points.
  • If your IELTS score is 8 or higher, you will receive a maximum of 20 immigration points in Australia.
