Canada's Minister of Immigration,
Sean Fraser, stated the following in a written statement to CIC News:
"Today, I'm happy to report
that Express Entry draws have begun in full and that applications will be
handled in accordance with our 6-month processing norm. I want to express my
gratitude to the applicants from all over the world for their tolerance while
we worked to clear the backlog before starting new Express Entry lotteries. In
order to overcome Canada's labour shortfall, it will be crucial to welcome
talented workers.
Why today's draw is significant
For a number of reasons, the
restoration of all-program draws is important. The Federal Skilled Worker
Program was the foremost strategy utilized by Canada to invite talented
