Immigration SA is closing subclass 190 visa nomination for those applicants who are presently not working in South Australia for 12 months or 6 months in this Australia region. Applicants who presently working for previous 12 months in South Australia in their closely related or nominated occupation (at least 20 hrs. per week) or previous six months in their closely related or nominated occupation for at least 20 hours per week in South Australia will be qualified for applying permanent 190 Visa nomination.
If applicants unable to meet these eligibility requirements, they will only be eligible to apply under Subclass 491 Visa nomination. This applies to all other occupations excluding the following occupations as:

The occupations that are mentioned above are no longer eligible under subclass 190 visa nomination because these occupations have reached their quota. Candidates with these occupations can still apply through provisional subclass 491 visa.
Regardless to this, the following hospitality occupations are closed for offshore applicants now as:
- Chef (351311)
- Cook (351411)
- Cafe or Restaurant Manager (141111)
These significant changes mentioned in this news are effective directly to state nomination visa applications that submitted to Immigration SA on or after 12 pm on 27th March 2020. If presently you have saved visa application that has not been submitted to Immigration SA, you will require satisfying all the criteria’s that are mentioned above in your nominated occupation or under visa subclass.
Immigration SA is aware that the COVID-19 situation and the impact of the travel ban is presenting challenges for some applicants and current visa holders who may be required to lodge from offshore, or are currently overseas and are unable to return to South Australia.
