This is to announce that South Australia has recently introduced concessions for international students residing in the state for continuous period since March 2012. These include offering the nomination for the subclass 489 visa to students who meet the conditions. The changes are already into effect.
As per the changes introduced, any international student (current or former students) who has been living in SA since March 2012 will be offered state nomination.
Also, International Students will be offered a state nomination if they have been working in South Australia for at least 3 months provided you are working for at least 40 hours a fortnight in any occupation in the state. Additionally, students who have completed a 1-year course in the state will also qualify for state nomination.
SA will offer state nomination to international students who can obtain a skill assessment and the work experience requirement will be waived off if the student is able to obtain a minimum GPA of 6.
