Half yearly report: Changes in the SkillSelect Invitation 2018

There has been change in the SkillSelect invitation rounds this program year as opposed to last year. The previous year saw a lower number of invitations issued by the Australian Government whereas the immigration points to receive invitation continued to increase, this led to a high number of undecided SkillSelect applications. As this year goes by, we will see skilled migration programs being unfulfilled for a second year in a row.
Changes in Australia immigration 2018

The minimum required eligibility point to apply for Australia Skilled Independent visa subclass 189 remains at 60 points. However, the invitations are given on 75 points. An increase from 70 point to 75 points has been seen in recent months. This applies to all non-pro rata occupations. This further applies that applicants who were invited at 60 points, now require 75 points. All the occupations listed on Medium and Long Term Strategic Skill list are included in this.
Similarly, Family Sponsored Subclass 489 applicants are expected to reach 80 points to be able to get invitation from the Australian government.
Despite the high immigration points for Skilled Regional Nominated visa 489 visa, the invitations given are very low in number. Generally, only 5 invitations are given per round.
