Canada Summer Jobs 2016 More employers applying to hire students this summer

The Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour, announced that a record number of applications have been received under Canada newly expanded Canada Summer Jobs program.
The Minister announced that the number of employers interested in hiring students this year has soared by almost 30 percent. In all, 36,833 applications have been received from employers, up from 28,352 last year.
Prime Minister announced last February that the Government would be providing support to hire up to 70,000 students across the country this summer through the expanded Canada Summer Jobs, doubling the 34,000 positions funded in 2015. The annual budget for Canada Summer Jobs was increased by $113 million for each of the next three years, beginning in 2016–17.
